West Peaks Dental Suite is very happy to announce that we are following the Alberta Dental Fee Guide in 2020 for all basic procedures! Below are some common questions regarding the Fee Guide.
What is the Alberta Dental Fee Guide?
The Fee Guide is produced by the Alberta Dental Association and College with the aim of increasing transparency of dental costs and procedures. It is not mandatory for dental offices to follow the guide, it is meant to offer guidelines for dental offices to set their pricing.
What does it mean to follow the Guide?
It means more consistent pricing for basic procedures and better alignment with what most insurances will cover. Many dental plan carriers will base plan coverage on fees and codes within the guide. Dental plan providers do not work with the ADA&C to develop the guide.
What do basic procedures entail?
Basic procedures include all exams (emergency, check-ups or comprehensive), cleanings with hygienists, routine dental restorations (fillings), root canals and tooth extractions. Dr. Harbison and Dr. Carey will both be following the guide for these procedures in 2020.
What are not considered basic procedures?
Although we strive to keep our fees as low as possible, some procedures may not follow the Alberta fee guide. Fees for some, but not all, complex dentistry are set as they have been for the last 5 years. This allows us to provide care in a way which we feel will benefit our patients to the best of our abilities. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions or concerns.
If you have any questions about the fee guide or are looking for a dentist in Calgary, we’re happy to see new patients. Give West Peaks Dental Suite a call at 403-281-4264.
