Invisalign, or clear aligners, are another option other than traditional metal braces to straighten teeth. With Invisalign, you will receive a set of plastic aligners. The plastic aligners work by applying a steady force to the teeth while they are worn (ideally for 20-22 hours a day). Aligners are switched weekly, and each set has a slightly different fit to the one before it. These small changes will slowly push your teeth to where they need to be with minimal discomfort.
The trays are held in place by the shape of your teeth as well as with small, tooth-colored attachments that are bonded onto certain teeth. These attachments help the trays apply specific pressure to certain areas and help with results. Following Invisalign treatment, the attachments are removed, and the teeth are polished.
West Peaks Dental offers Invisalign to adult patients with mild to moderate crowding or spacing. For more information, or to book a free consultation, please call our office at 403-281-4264.
